Albuquerque – Governor-elect Susana Martinez today announced the members of the Governor-Elect Martinez State Engineer Search Committee. These individuals will work with the transition committee’s chairman, former Congresswoman Heather Wilson to identify and recommend cabinet officials and other leaders who will reflect the governor-elect’s commitment to protecting and conserving the state’s precious water resources.
The members of the Governor-Elect Martinez State Engineer Search Committee include:
JACK WESTMAN, CHAIRMAN
Jack Westman is a registered professional engineer in New Mexico and Texas and a licensed general contractor in New Mexico, as well as a real estate broker in the state. Westman has sat on the Blue Ribbon Water Task Force since 1994. He is a founding partner in the civil engineering firm of Bohannan Houston, the largest civil engineering firm in New Mexico.
COLIN HUNTER
Colin Hunter is owner of Hunter Law Firm. Hunter served as legislative director to Congresswoman Heather Wilson.
JOHN JONES
John Jones is a retired Navy Commander and the current chief operating officer for Entranosa Water & Wastewater Association and three-term president of the New Mexico Rural Water Association. Jones is the current legislative chairman, secretary and member of the Estancia Basin Water Planning Committee, member of the Interstate Stream Regional Planning Advisory Committee and member of the Bernalillo County Water Conservation Committee. He has also served on numerous community-related boards and committees.
PETER MAGGIORE
Peter Maggiore has more than 30 years experience in the field of environmental management, hydrogeology and geology. Since April 2010, Maggiore has served as the director of environmental programs for Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC in Los Alamos. In addition, he provides regulatory analysis and senior environmental consulting support to Los Alamos National Laboratory and private sector customers.
ERMINIO MARTINEZ
Erminio Martinez is a northern New Mexico livestock owner and rancher. Martinez retired as a state magistrate and probate judge after 20 years of service. He has been a Parciente with the Acequia Amadre in Taos County.
DEBORAH PEACOCK
Deborah A. Peacock is a registered professional engineer in New Mexico and Colorado, and a registered patent attorney. Peacock is president of Peacock Myers, P.C., which practices intellectual property law and employees 30 people. She is a member of the New Mexico Society of Professional Engineers and National Society of Professional Engineers.
